WE HAVE A PRE-K CLASS THROUGH CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES THAT INCLUDES PLAY, DANCE, AND MUSIC.
STUDENTS HAVE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO DEVELOP PLUS RELATIONSHIPS AND ACADEMIC SKILLS.
I'D LIKE TO THANK OTHER DEVELOP SCHOOL TO GRACIOUSLY OFFERING VIRTUAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR OUR FOURTH AND FIFTH GRADE STUDENTS.
WE'VE BEEN ABLE TO OFFER ADDITIONAL CLASSES TO OUR MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS BY OFFERING VIRTUAL VIRGINIA CLASS.

THE SCHOOL IS PERFORMING WELL ACADEMICALLY.WE STRUGGLED IN SCIENCE WITH A 64% PASS RATE.
I CANNOT HELP BUT THINK THAT PART OF THAT IS DUE TO US NOT HAVING SCIENCE TEACHER.
WE ARE FORTUNATE THAT KARA, JEFF FROM CHIE HIGH SCHOOL TAUGHT OUR STUDENTS BIOLOGY THE FALL SEMESTER.
WE USED VIRTUAL VIRGINIA FOR THE LATE SECONDARY SCIENCE CLASSES.
WE WERE ABLE TO ACHIEVE A 100% PASS RATE IN ALL AREAS, INCLUDING SCIENCE FOR THE FALL SEMESTER THIS YEAR.
AT THIS TIME, MS. PAYON GREW IT AS OUR SCHOOL REPRESENTATIVE WAS.
I HAVE BEEN AT CS SINCE I STARTED KINDERGARTEN.
I'M HALFWAY THROUGH MY JUNIOR MEETING.
THE LOVE I GOT FOR THE SCHOOL IS INDE.
OF COURSE, LIKE ANY OTHER SCHOOL, IT HAS AN UPSIDE AND DOWNSIDE, BUT I WOULD NOT PICK ANY OTHER SCHOOLS THAT HAVE GOTTEN TO GROW UP IN.
ALL OF OUR TEACHERS ARE OUTSTANDING, PATIENT AND ENCOURAGED.
THEN ALL THE TIMES WE FACE, WHETHER IT'S PERSONAL OR SOMEONE NEEDS HELP, UNDERSTANDING HELP, SOMEONE IS ALWAYS THERE TO HELP.
WE ALWAYS KNOW THAT AT LEAST ONE PERSON WILL HAVE OUR FACTS.
WHEN YOU GROW UP IN A SCHOOL SO SMALL, YOU KNOW, AND YOU KNOW EVERYONE, AND IT'S MUCH EASIER THAN IT IS.
EVERY CHILD ALWAYS HAS SOMEONE TO LAYER THEIR OWN, WHICH I FEEL IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR EVERYONE.
WHEN I STARTED HIGH SCHOOL, THE WORK I LEARNED THAT WE WERE BRINGING NEW HIGH SCHOOL AND SURE ENOUGH, SHE WAS COMING FROM THE MAINLAND.
AND ALL OF OUR, ALL OF THE STUDENTS DID NOT LIKE THE IDEA OF HAVING A STRANGER IN OUR SCHOOL.
BUT SHE HAS BEEN THE BIGGEST LESSON WITH US.
DR HAS BEEN A FAIR ADMINISTRATOR AND AN AMAZING SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR EACH CHILD IN OUR SCHOOL SINCE THE DAY SHE ARRIVED.
SHE'S THE ONE PERSON YOU CAN COUNT ON TO BELIEVE IN YOU EVEN IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.
AND I APPRECIATE THAT ON AN EXTREMELY PERSONAL LEVEL, SHE HAS PUSHED ME TO BE THE BEST STUDENT I COULD POSSIBLY BE.
AND SHE HAS HELPED ME GET THROUGH MANY NOTES THAT CLASSES I DIDN'T THINK I WAS GOOD ENOUGH TO BE IN AND THAT I THOUGHT I WAS GONNA FAIL.
BUT MY GRADE SLIP, SHE WAS ALWAYS THERE ASKING IF THERE WAS ANYTHING SHE COULD DO TO MAKE IT EASIER.
AND THEN THE NEXT WEEK THEY WERE BACK UP TO EIGHT.
HERE YOU HAVE, YOU NEVER HAVE TO ORDER.
IF YOU WERE REALLY GOOD ENOUGH TO BE IN THE SCHOOL AND YOU NEVER HAVE TO DO ANYTHING ALONE, OUR TEACHERS AND PARAPROFESSIONALS ARE ALWAYS THERE FOR SUPPORT.
I RECENTLY STARTED TAKING A COLLEGE COURSE THAT I TAKE ONLINE THROUGH EASTERN SHORE COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
FORTUNATELY, IT HAS BEEN PRETTY EASY FOR ME.
BUT LIVING ON CAME HERE HERE, VERY LIMITED TO WHAT WE CAN DO BECAUSE WE LIVE SO FAR FROM EVERY OTHER SCHOOL, WE MISS OUT ON A LOT OF ACTIVITIES THAT EVERYONE ELSE GETS TO DO.
I PERSONALLY MISS OUT ON THE IN-PERSON BIOLOGY LAB INSTEAD THE
ANOTHER THING I REALLY WISH I COULD DO IS THE PROGRAM.
I DREAMED OF BEING A NURSE SINCE I WAS ONLY GIRL.
AND WHEN I FOUND OUT THE PROGRAM, THERE WAS A BADGER PROGRAM THAT FOR PEOPLE THAT WANTED TO BE NURSES, I WAS EXTREMELY EXCITED TO GET A HEAD START ON MY TRAIN CAREER.
BUT IT WASN'T POSSIBLE FOR ME TO HAVE ACCESS TO THE PROGRAM AT PCS FOR THE LACK OF RESOURCES.
OUR SCHOOL, OUR LITTLE SCHOOL, IS A SCHOOL THAT SOMEONE CAN SEND THEIR SHOCK OUT TO EVERY DAY AND BE AT EASE IN THEIR MIND KNOWING THAT IT IS VERY UNLIKELY FOR THIS SCHOOL TO BE DANGEROUS, WHO MAY BE A SMALL SCHOOL, BUT WE COME TOGETHER FOR ONE ANOTHER WHETHER IT'S SOMEONE'S BIRTHDAY OR AN APPRECIATION WEEK OF SOME SORT.
AND EXTREMELY APPRECIATE, APPRECIATED TO HAVE GOTTEN TO SPEAK ON BEHALF OF OUR SCHOOL TONIGHT.
I HAVE NOT CHANGED GROWING UP WITH TCS FOR THE LOCAL.

THEY HAVE ALSO BEEN PROVIDED OPPORTUNITIES TO TAKE CLASSES WITH HER VIRGINIA, WHICH HAS MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR THEM TO RECEIVE THE CREDIT NECESSARY TO GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL.
WE ARE SEEING MORE THAN APPLICABLE WITH THE NEED FOR A GOOD EDUCATION AND THEY HAVE BEEN PROVIDED WITH THAT GOOD EDUCATION RIGHT HERE.
MY FOURTH AND FIFTH GRADER, RAHHO AND JASON, ARE BEING TAUGHT BY UTE ELEMENTARY SCIENCE EDUCATORS.
THEY'RE ASSISTANTS WORK HAND IN HAND WITH THE TEACHERS OF
DR. ROSA, MR. PATTERSON AND MS. PAYNE HAVE ALL WORKED COLLABORATIVELY TO MAKE THIS TRANSITION THE BEST THAT IT CAN BE.
THE FOURTH AND FIFTH GRADERS HAVE VISITED
THEY WERE WELCOME WITH SUCH HOSPITALITY.
MY CHILDREN HAVE PARTICIPATED IN COUNTY FOREST AS WELL AS THE SCIENCE FAIR AND MR. PATTERSON HAS ALSO INVITED 'EM TO BE A PART OF THE FIFTH GRADE GRADUATION.
I'M SO THANKFUL FOR THE INCLUSION.
TANGER HAS NEVER HAD A PRESCHOOL BEFORE AND I'M EXTRA THANKFUL THAT MY YOUNGEST SON F GETS TO BE A PART OF TANGER COMBINED SCHOOL'S FIRST PRESCHOOL CLASS.
HE IS BEING PROVIDED WITH THAT BASIC FOUNDATION THAT WILL HELP TO FOSTER A LIFETIME OF LEARNING.
MS. CHRISTINE PARKS IS DOING A WONDERFUL JOB TEACHING THESE LITTLE LEARNERS.
I CANNOT HELP BUT THINK OF ALL THE POSITIVES THAT WOULD COME FROM THIS.
ED ALREADY KNOWS HIS LETTERS AND HIS SIGNS AND IS BEGINNING TO BLEND AND SAVING THAT WORDS.
THE OTHER NIGHT, MY HUSBAND WAS ASKING ED WHAT HE LEARNED IN SCHOOL.
AND WE WERE EXPECTING HEAR THE ORDINARY COLORS AND SHAPES, THE SORT OF THING THAT YOU THINK THAT A CHILD LEARNED IN PRESCHOOL.
BUT INSTEAD HE TOLD US THAT HE HAD LEARNED ABOUT THE LIFECYCLE OF A BUTTERFLY.
AND THEN HE WENT ON TO TELL US THAT PEOPLE HAD A LIFECYCLE AS WELL.
YOU SEE, EARLY EDUCATION DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
LAST YEAR OUR SCHOOL RECEIVED NEW PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT.
MY THREE YOUNGEST CHILDREN AS WELL AS THE OTHER CHILDREN ON THE ISLAND, THE DOOR OF THE NEW PLAYGROUND.

AND IT'S NOT ONLY BEING USED DURING SCHOOL WHILE, BUT ALSO DURING THE EVENING AND THE WEEKEND BY EVERYONE IN THE COMMUNITY.

WHEN I FIRST HEARD THAT WE WERE GETTING THE PRINCIPAL FROM THE MAINLINE, I WAS VERY NERVOUS.
ROSA'S LEADERSHIP, TCS HAS REGAINED ITS MOMENTUM, HER FIRST PRIORITY.
HE AS A STUDENT, IT AMAZED ME HOW RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING SHE WANTED TO GET TO KNOW ALL OF THE STUDENTS.
SHE WAS QUICK TO LEARN THEIR NAMES, THEIR PRACTICE, THEIR DISLIKES, AND THEIR SCHOOL STUDENTS.
SHE'S FIRM AND SHE ALSO REALIZES THAT THESE STUDENTS ARE KIDS AND THAT THEY'RE STILL LEARNING.
SHE SET HIGH EXPECTATIONS FOR STUDENTS AND FOR TEACHERS.
SHE'S PRESENT IN OUR CLASSROOMS. DR.
ROSATI HAS ALLOWED US TO CONTINUE TO KEEP ALL OF OUR CHANGE TRADITION THAT HAS EXPOSED US TO NEW IDEAS.
SHE HAS TAUGHT ME SO MUCH AND HAS BEEN VERY INFLUENTIAL IN HOW COMMITTED BECOME CERTIFIED IN ADMINISTRATION.
I FEEL LIKE THIS WORLD IS FILLED WITH SO MUCH NEGATIVITY.
IT'S ALMOST HARD TO SEE THE BID SOMETIMES.
I COULD MAKE A LIST OF ALL THE THINGS THAT I WISH WE DID HAD HERE AT TVF, BUT TONIGHT SAY WHAT I'M PAYING FOR, WHAT WE, THAT I'M PAYING FAITHFUL FOR.
WHAT WE DO HAVE, WE HAVE 38 OF THE MOST AMAZING STUDENT EVER.
SOME OF THE BEST TEACHERS HAVE THE TIME AND SEVERAL STAFF MEMBERS WHO ALWAYS VOLUNTEER THEIR TIME TO MAKE SURE THAT OUR STUDENTS ARE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN SO MANY FUN AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES.
IN SEPTEMBER, WE HAD A BACK TO SCHOOL PARTY FOR OUR MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL THAT INCLUDED A BONFIRE AT THE END OF THE AIRPORT.
THE STUDENTS ROASTED HOT DOGS AND MADE SMORES PLAY CORNHOLE.
AMAZING SUNSET ELEMENTARY STUDENTS HAD AN ICE CREAM SUNDAY PARTY AT THE SCHOOL GYM.
OUR SOPHOMORES, JUNIORS AND SANDERS HAD A FUNDRAISER AT THE RAINS RESTAURANT.
MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY CAME OUT TO EAT.
SOME OF THE STUDENTS WAITED TABLES, OTHERS WASHED DISHES.
BUT AT THE END OF THE NIGHT, ALMOST $1,000 IN TIPS WERE MADE TO THE SCHOOL.
WE HAD A PRE-K THROUGH 12TH GRADE PARENTS BEGINNING LUNCHEON WHERE 100% OF PARENTS AND GUARDIANS SHOWED UP TO EAT WITH THEIR CHILDREN.
ELEMENTARY STUDENTS HAD A FIELD TRIP AT OUR LOCAL FIRE STATION.
21 STUDENTS WERE TAUGHT FROM FIRE SAFETY AND WERE EVEN GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO LOOK INSIDE THE AMBULANCE AND FIRE TRUCK AND WERE GIVEN A CHANCE TO SPRAY THE HOSE.
THIS IS A BIG BIT, BOTH ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE, AND HIGH.
UM, HAD HALLOWEEN PARTIES AFTER SCHOOL HOURS, THEY DRESSED IN COSTUMES, TOOK THE MARCH AROUND TIME, AND THEY CAME BACK TO THEIR TEACHERS TO GAS THEM.

WE THEN CAME BACK AND HAD GAMES AND TREATS.IN NOVEMBER, TANER HELD A
ALL OF TANGER'S BATHROOMS WERE INVITED TO LUNCH WITH THE ELEMENTARY STUDENTS.
AND THEY, EACH BATCH A HANDMADE POWER HIGH SCHOOL HAD THEIR OWN HOMECOMING.
EVERYONE DRAFTS UP IN FULL ATTIRE, INVITED DATES TO THE MAIN ONE AND DI AWAY.
RIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR, TCS TRIBE TIME, WHO HAD NEVER DONE BEFORE.
WE DECIDED TO HAVE A PRE-K FOR 12TH GRADE PAGE.
WE CHOSE TO ACT OUT BY THE GREENSTONE CHRISTMAS.
TO SAY THIS WAS AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE WOULD BE AN UNDERSTATEMENT.
IT WAS SO TOUCHING TO SEE THE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WORK HAND IN HAND WITH LITTLE PRESCHOOLERS.
THE WORD
STUDENTS AND STAFF WORKED SO HARD TO BE SURE THAT EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT.
OUR ENTIRE AUDITORIUM WAS GREEN COVILLE.
TO CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAY SEASON, MIDLAND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS OPTED TO HAVE A PIZZA PARTY AT A LOCAL RESTAURANT AND TO PLAY THE THIEVES.
THE THIEVES GATE ELEMENTARY CELEBRATED BY WATCHING CHRISTMAS MOVIE AND SNACKING ON POPCORN.

ONE GROUP FOCUSED FROM KARAOKE ORDERS AGAIN, WE PASSED THE $1,000 MARK.
THIS UPCOMING SATURDAY WILL BE HOLDING A SUPREME IN OUR SCHOOL CAFETERIA.
MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY RENT TABLES FROM US AND THEY SELL GOODIES AND HANDMADE ITEMS. THE STUDENTS WILL SELL HOT DOGS, NACHOS AND CHEESE.
OTHERS WILL FACE PAINT SOME MORE WILL TAKE PICTURES WITH THE EASTER BUNNY AND SOME WILL HELP WITH ARTS AND FRIES.
AND THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS WE HAVE A CAR WASH CLAIM.
ANOTHER DINNER AT THE RAIN RESTAURANT AND AN ISLAND SCHOOL CLEANUP FOR EARTH DAY.
AS YOU CAN SEE, WE DON'T HAVE ANY FAITH CLUBS OR ANY SPORTS FOOD OR ANY OF THE USUAL THINGS THAT MOST SCHOOLS DO HAVE, BUT WE DO HAVE PLENTY ACTIVITIES THAT HELP FOSTER A LOCAL COMMUNITY.

CCS IS STILL THE GREATEST AND BEST SCHOOL IN AKIMA COUNTY.
THERE WERE ONLY 38 STUDENTS STRONG.
OUR TEACHERS REMAIN COMMITTED TO PROVIDING THEM WITH THE BEST EDUCATION.
IN THE FALL SEMESTER, WE SAW 100% PASSING RATE IN OUR SOL PATH, AS WELL AS THE WALLACE FINANCIAL LITERACY PATH.
A HUGE IMPROVEMENT IN THE POST COVID ERA.

OUR MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ARE ALSO OFFERED DISTANCE LEARNING COURSES IN SCIENCE, PHYSICAL EDUCATION, SPANISH AND COMPUTER SCIENCE.
THIS OFFERS THEM A WIDE VARIETY OF BOTH REQUIRED AND ELECTIVE COURSES, AS WELL AS PROVIDING STUDENTS WITH AN ADVANCED SUBJECT DIPLOMA.

JUST TWO ITEMS. UM, I DID MISS THE COUNTY AUDIT MEETING LAST THURSDAY BECAUSE THIS BOARD MET AT THAT SAME TIME.
UM, AND SECOND, I, UM, OBSERVED A TRAFFIC PATTERN WITH A SCHOOL DISMISSAL THAT, UM, RAISED SOME CONCERNS FOR ME.
I HAD PICTURES AND I JUST WANTED TO BRING IT INTO THE ATMOSPHERE.

BUT ALSO WHEN WE HAVE VERY IMPORTANT PEOPLE COME TO US, LIKE EASTERN SHORE COMMUNITY COLLEGE, EASTERN SHORE, RURAL HEALTH, NASA, WHOMEVER, PEOPLE WHO COME FROM FAR DISTANCES THAT THEY'RE NOT PUT DOWN AT AGENDA 0.9 0.01.
BECAUSE A LOT OF THE INFORMATION THAT THEY PROVIDE TO US IS FOR THE PARENTS AND FOR THE CONSTITUENTS, NOT NECESSARILY FOR US.
SO IF THEY'RE JUST TALKING TO US, THEY COULD HAVE DONE THAT IN ANOTHER WAY.
BUT WE WANT PARENTS AND STUDENTS TO BE ABLE TO GET THE SAME INFORMATION THAT WE ARE GETTING AT THE SAME TIME.
SO WHILE THAT PERSON IS HERE, IF THERE ARE ANY QUESTIONS, CONSTITUENTS CAN ASK THE PERSON AND NOT FALL BACK ON US TO PROVIDE INFORMATION THAT WE MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE HEARD OR UNDERSTOOD.
UM, I ATTENDED THE SHAFT MEETING, THE SCHOOL HEALTH ADVISORY BOARD MEETING.
AND THAT, UM, THAT WAS MY FIRST TIME ATTENDING VERY NICE GROUP OF PEOPLE.
AND, UH, THEY MOVED THROUGH QUITE A BIT OF INFORMATION RATHER EFFICIENTLY.
AND, UH, WENT TO, UH, READING DAY AT MACK ELEMENTARY.
THERE WAS A LOT OF PEOPLE THERE.
IT WAS GOOD TO SEE SO MANY COMMUNITY MEMBERS IN OUR SCHOOL.

MY PROBLEM IS THAT I'M NOT ALWAYS ABLE TO ATTEND THE MEETINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD IN PERSON.
AND THAT DOES NOT MEAN I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE ACTIONS YOU TAKE.
I DO, I BELIEVE MANY PEOPLE DO AND CANNOT BE THERE IN PERSON.
WHY NOT PUT THE MEETINGS ON FACEBOOK LIVE AS THE TOWN COUNCIL FOR MANY COMMUNITIES DO.
YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO REACH MORE CITIZENS WITH THE INFORMATION AND IT'S MORE COUNTING ON THE POSSIBILITY THAT IF YOU TRULY WANNA HAVE COMMUNITY INPUT, THIS IS A GREAT WAY TO OFFER IT.
INFORMATION IS A TOOL WE ALL NEED WHEN MAKING IMPORTANT DECISIONS.
THE MORE YOU HEAR FROM CITIZENS, THE MORE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SERVE IN YOUR ELECTED POST MORE EFFICIENTLY AND THUS SERVE OUR COMMUNITIES BETTER.
